Carolina Chavero
Professor and Researcher
Carolina Chavero holds a bachelor’s degree in Astronomy from the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) and a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the National Observatory – MCT (Brazil), validated by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She completed a PCI postdoctoral fellowship at the National Observatory of Brazil and conducted research stays at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (Spain) with a Marie Curie scholarship, and at the European Southern Observatory (ESO-Garching, Germany). She also holds diplomas in Data Science (FAMAF-UNC) and Distance Education (UNC). She currently works as a researcher at CONICET, a professor at the Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba, and a lecturer in the Bachelor of Computer Science program (UNC). She directs the Data Science Diploma program at FAMAF-UNC, a program focused on applied training in supervised learning and its uses in various sectors. Her career combines astrophysics, data science, and STEM education, with experience in academic management and the coordination of interdisciplinary projects. Convinced that data is a bridge between knowledge and action, she promotes the application of data science and artificial intelligence for both scientific research and the development of innovative solutions with social impact.
