What is InnovaCities?

Created in 2011, InnovaCities – International Fair of Smart, Joyful, Humane, and Resilient Cities has established itself as one of the most important platforms for promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and discussions about Smart Cities and Smart Tourist Destinations in Latin America.

The 2025 edition marks the 14th occurrence of the event, reaffirming its commitment to transforming cities into more sustainable, inclusive, technological, and resilient spaces for residents and visitors.

          BRICS and InnovaCities Competitions

          During InnovaCities 2025, two major international innovation competitions will be highlighted:

          BRICS Technological Innovation Competition

          Targeted at students, researchers, inventors, and startups from BRICS and BRICS+ countries, this competition promotes innovative technological solutions focused on skill development and practical application.

          InnovaCities Regenerative Innovation Competition

          Designed for actors within innovation ecosystems in Brazil and worldwide, this competition proposes regenerative solutions with technical feasibility and positive socio-environmental impact.

              The 4th Mesquita Tourism Race of Foz, a pre-opening event of InnovaCities, will be held on September 14th at 7 a.m. at the Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque — one of Foz do Iguaçu’s foremost cultural and tourist landmarks. Traditionally, each edition of the Tourism Race pays tribute to a notable local attraction, and this year, the mosque has been honored. All registered participants will receive an exclusive race kit.
