UNILA Computing Area Coordinator

He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from École de Technologie Supérieure (Université du Quebec), Canada, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UFPE (2010). He earned a Master’s degree in Applied Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (2004) and a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics from the State University of Ponta Grossa (2001). He has been an Associate Professor IV at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA) since 2010. At UNILA, in addition to teaching informatics courses for various programs, he has served in university administration as the coordinator of the Information and Communication Technology area (2011-2018) and as the Pro-rector of Administration, Management, and Infrastructure (2023-2024). He is currently the coordinator of the Computing Area at UNILA. He is also a reviewer for national and international journals such as Information Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, among others. His research focuses on the following topics in the field of Computer Science: machine learning, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, computer vision, optimization, and evolutionary computation.
